When Naomi finds out her father, Don, needs help with his honeybees after being diagnosed with late-stage COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), she heads back to her family's Yukon home to learn how to take care of bees. The film follows their journey through three beekeeping seasons as Don shares his knowledge and they come to terms with his declining health. Through the inevitable beestings, hive death, and finally her first batch of golden honey, Naomi comes to realize it was never about learning beekeeping, but about spending more time with her dad.
